Lessons

Since 1993 I have tutored local adult art classes for beginners and improvers. I try to maintain a happy, relaxed and friendly atmosphere in these daytime sessions whilst providing tuition in both drawing and painting. I also teach and demonstrate in various media for local art groups where I hope my enthusiasm for painting will inspire and encourage members to ‘have a go’. Teaching art has proved to be a stimulus for my own creativity and I am always encouraged by the enthusiasm of adults.

Holidays

Each year I organise a holiday for artists and their partners combining both painting and walking. We have been to Provence , Lake Garda and Spain in the past but this year's trip is to Cinque Terre on the Ligurian coast of Italy . Next year, by popular request, we are planning a return trip to the beautiful Finca El Cerillo, in Andalucia , Spain . From this year I am fortunate to also teach in France for Chateau L’Age Baston www.lagebaston.com. If you are interested in any of these holidays please contact me via email and I will forward details.”

Jane Rhodes

When asked why she attends Jane's classes, Ann Smith of Carlton replied "to gain inspiration, advice and enthusiasm for mixed media work"

Susie Bay of Toddington said"Jane's pastel paintings are the pictorial equivalent of the closet in C.S.Lewis' 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' - you 'walk' right into them and your imagination takes off...."

Quote from Jane -"My major concern at present is the lack of painting time left after the washing, ironing, gardening and teaching!"
